This trestle form money changer’s table takes its name from the traveling merchants who once used tables just like it, sliding the top horizontally along tracks in the base to reveal a hidden compartment below. That compartment once held coin and goods, and let money change hands discreetly in a public square. Today it makes a wonderful spot to tuck away cutlery and linens for dining or as a kitchen island / butcher block.
